Day three

3/18/2020

Today was a great day! We spent most of the day outside and busy enjoying nature. We started the day in the kitchen. The kids made chocolate chip cookies. I only let them use 1/4c and 1/2c for all the measurements-Alton is learning about fractions. They all did a pretty good job of taking turns but they all just really wanted to lick the spoons. Alton learned the correct way to put the batter on the cookie sheet and I was reminded of my OCD.

I had my first zoom training with some of the other first grade teachers in the county. Lots of information and resources to share. While I was working, D took the kids to the Whitesville Rod and Gun club to investigate. The boys are members now.

Then D took the big kids canoeing down the Genesee and Callie and I went to school for lunch. We ran the bases at the baseball field and I explained the basics of the game. She took some practice swings and enjoyed running around the field. Then we sat in the back of the van while she ate her turkey sammich and strawberry milk. We walked over to the track and counted the number of triangles on the track and raced.

The bigs loved their time on the water with their dad. He packed them some great snacks and they saw some ducks while they were floating. It got up to almost 60 today. So we were able to play ball in the back yard and burn off some energy. I called up all my kids and left a few messages. It was so nice to talk to most of them and hear their voices. I challenged them to have a dance party. We have been dancing a lot and our theme song is Welcome to my house.

Alton's thoughts :
Today for dinner we had boiled potatoes, and ham, (soup). The best part of the day was going canoeing, playin' catch, and setting the minnow trap out. One thing I would change about the day would be going fishing while canoeing. We also dug up worms.

Vella's thoughts:
Today dad Alton, and I went canoeing. We went minnow fishing. And my family went outside and play. I would change minnow fishing- it took a long time to go up and down the stream.

Callie thoughts:
My favorite part of the day was dancing to Welcome to my House and spending time with mommy. I would changedancing.

Derreck's thoughts:
Best part was seeing the ducks while we were going down river.
I would change my kids being better listeners.
