Today we were all supposed to go roller skating at Funland. The big kids were supposed to go first and then the littles. We had everything planned. I had even checked and recorded the sizes of all my students' feet. Thankfully 1st graders don't have super stinky feet. ;)
The day started with shenanigans. Green milk was the first thing our leprechaun did. Somehow the eggs we had for breakfast also turned green. Weird.
Happy St. Patrick's day!

D fell asleep on the couch and when I woke up all the chitlins were with me in bed. ️

We broke out all our building materials to construct a trap for the sneaky leprechaun. V discovered he had left a special book for us to read and give us some ideas.
Mo Willems did an online art class and the kids learned how to draw Elephant.
I had one math game left in my bag. Each of these for the clovers had a number on them and a letter in the top corner so you could use the answer key in recording sheet. The first thing they did was put all of the cards in ABC order. Then her and I’ll work together to put the numbers in order from smallest to largest. They both have amazing math skills they get from their daddy.
tonight I am not nearly optimistic as I was yesterday. My stomachs in knots and I don’t feel good. I know it’s on my head. I think too far into things and over analyze every little detail. I am not allowed to go to school. I can’t go in my classroom to get anything for my kids. I can call or send an email and I can bring things out that I need. I’m really trying to think of what I have in my classroom that I could use at home with my big kids. Everything is laid out on my reading table ready for school to start and my packets for my kids to work on are still sitting on my hexagon table. I don’t know when I’ll be able to physically put in my classroom again. I think just knowing that really hit me tonight.
But on a more positive note I am creating a YouTube channel so I can read stories to my kids and I’m getting some of the other teachers involved. I’m trying to see what books we have collectively that the authors are allowing us to read aloud on social media platforms. That’s tomorrow’s project. Hopefully we have some sunshine because the lighting in our house is horrible. Today was kind of a gray drizzly day what other ones are a lot of playtime outside.
