We lost a legend
Last night we lost John Mountain. He was a man that so many people knew. He was known for so many things. But to me what sticks out is his love for Miller Lite. Silly, I know. It's not a beer we usually have on hand, but I made a point to bring a Bud Lite on our fishing expedition today. I drank it in honor of a great man. When this whole coronavirus is over I will buy a case of Miller and proudly drink it in his honor.
I have so many fond memories of him. I worked for John and Nancy so many summers. I helped watch the grandkids, cleaned houses and boats, helped paint, lay carpet, cook and waitress parties, the list goes on. They lovingly referenced me as their slave because I was there every day and would do whatever they needed me to do.

I've felt empty today knowing I'll never see him again and get a chance to share a beer with him. But I have so many memories to keep with me.
Until we meet again. Cheers!
Day fourteen
3/23/2020
Today was all about family being outside, together, being a family. We snuggled, fished, danced, and snuggled some more during the tractor ride, showered, and snuggled some more for a movie. Other than the impending doom of covid 19 attacking us all, we had a great day out in nature. This is the reason we moved back home. To be outside together as a family. I am sad the kids are all missing out on little league-they were all supposed to be playing. Alton should still be playing bball tourneys. But we are getting in such precious family time and making memories. We will look back at these weeks and remember the fun things we did together, not the world breaking down around us.
Sunday morning. This is how we went to church. Two great messages again this weekend.
Nugget just wanted to snuggle!
We did manage to get some pretty hairs did.
And we had some delicious over medium eggs. The girls each at a bowl of cereal and 2 eggs. These girls are growing like weeds.
I got to wear my fancy new church shoes to online church with shorts and a camo shirt :)
When I was cleaning I found Alton's library book that's been missing for months. It fell behind a bookshelf?? Now hopefully I will find Alton's chrome book....
We went to the Whitesville Rod and Gun club to go fishing. It was much colder there than at our house. We had lots fun with worms, various bait, casting, and dancing of course.
He really gets into it.
This little one has become very attached to her daddy and insisted she go with Derreck in the boat. She loves him big.
I don't think these are native to Whitesville.
V's pants got wet so she wore her daddy's "mermaid style"
My whole world right here. Daddy driving the tractor and us all snuggled up together in the back of the trailer. <3 Pardon Earl herem I'm working hard on gaining my covid 19.
Such pretty views of the world from behind a tractor while daddy checks the trail cameras. :)
This is what I got D for his 40th. Steps for his tree stand. This will give him more mobility when he is bow hunting. I don't know why I am encouraging him to spend more time away from his wife and children???
The munchkins enjoyed it though!

Day twelve
3/28/2020
The joys of technology. I was able to zoom in on aerobics with Gail. We were a little late joining as I worked with mom to get her downloaded and ready to go. Callie worked out with me and liked playing with the canned goods-they are my weights in a pinch. It's great to get a workout in from home with familiar faces-even when there is no space....
Today I worked at our homeschooling area. I'm doing my best to keep things organized but there is so much stuff the kids have to do and all the other stuff to keep them occupied. The china cabinet has been converted to house puzzles and blocks. Good thing I never unpacked it. Looking forward to moving things around and getting better situated in the new house.
There have been some local tragedies so we made a Wellsville Strong sign that now hangs on our front door.
New nails for the weekend. Much more spring like. Mama is not a tie dye girl, but I don't hate it.
We didn't do much else today. It was rainy out and we were bums, nothing wrong with that. I went through some old memories on line that cheered me up. Our sweet little babies.
7 years ago we announced Alton was going to be a big brother <3
Callie's first Easter. It was cold and yucky that day too. Thankful we had a backup outfit for cooler weather. Isn't D just the cutest daddy?
We had spaghetti and meatballs for dinner tonight. But I realized with all the pasta we have, there was no actual spaghetti. I used leftover spaghetti squash which wasn't too bad. Fewer carbs to keep me on track. This is our homemade sauce from our garden several years ago. Just as good as when it was fresh. We are already making plans for what our garden will look like this spring. I can't wait to have more time to help cultivate it.
I moved the wikki stix downstairs to our working room so the kids can have some more practice with their words and letters. They love them.
