Blogging has fallen by the wayside in the chaos of life. Here’s a quick update and more will be coming.
Everyone is doing well. We are all healthy and in school full time. The kids are all loving school and doing so great. I am teaching kinder for the first time and think I enjoy it. It’s so different with covid. I have a tough class. I’ve never had a student suspended but it’s the norm this year unfortunately. This is also the first year I’ve ever been kicked, punched, or bitten. Regardless things are getting better. I’ve done lots of online pd and book studies to learn more about me and sel to better help my babies.
The girls are all in dance and love it. Alton is still doing b-ball. But they don’t have games- he’s had one tourney. He has also started jujitsu. The best part of the activities is that we are 2 blocks away and walk most of the time. The classes are across the street from one another too. It makes life so much easier being right there.
We are now making maple syrup. We’ve tapped 10 trees at the shed and with 2 go rounds have canned several quarts of syrup. We have lots of sap flowing now so we are working on boiling as much as we can to keep up. It’s a great experience for the kids. I’ve even talked about it with my kinders. Our achool is tapping 12 trees across the street and we got to learn from the high schoolers about the process.
We are full into the renovating our house. The only thing left on the second floor is the kitchen and bathroom. Everything is down to the studs. D has been doing a great job. He’s been doing some paying jobs lately and keeping up with sap/ cutting/ stacking wood at the shed, so he’s been tired at night. 💪
The kids are all signed up for spring ball. The girls will be in softball and Alton will be in little league. 3 separate teams this year will be crazy. Thankfully the fields are nearby so I hope things go smoothly. D and Nick will be helping out so I know the kids will be in good hands.
I broke down and got kinder teacher shoes. It’s official now!
The girls working on an old kinder math book on a Friday night. They love school and learning!
Beautiful sunset after a long day of boiling sap, cutting trees, stacking wood and cooking on the bonfire.
Perfection!
First bonfire of the season!
Cousin Jocelyn sent the kids some books they were purging. They may have been a tad excited!
On our way to dance. Always the fashionista!
Alton “takes breaks” from technology and read 4 of these Gary Paulson books in less than 2 days. I love when he gets in a reading groove. He loves reading and I’m enjoying seeing what he enjoys reading and seeing him Rudd my favorites when I was younger as well as some new series.
Callie is in acro and passed session one and two. Moving on up!
